5 months

Sam is five months old today! We celebrated by having friends over last night who have a baby that is four days older than Sam. I burnt some lasagna for us and we had cupcakes while watching the Auburn game (? I'm being nice calling it a game). Sam is very active these days. One of his favorite things is a toy that plays music and lights up. Since he can sit up really well now, he loves playing with it, but he thinks that he needs to stretch across it to get to the opposite side. Sam also loves to throw his football or any toy in his hands so that I can run and get it. I have been running around the room picking stuff up non-stop since he decided that this was fun. I am pretty exhausted now!

Sam and Hannah had fun playing (I think). Of the million toys on the ground, they both preferred a $2 plastic football. Sam was a little perturbed that someone else was playing with his toys, but I think he had fun watching Hannah roll all around him. We tried to get a picture in of both of them in their Halloween costumes, but Hannah was not digging hers. Here's the best picture I got!

What a wonderful five months it has been having Same in our lives. I cannot believe how much he has changed since we brought him home. It is truly amazing to watch him grow!

He loves his bouncy seat!

There were so many cute five month pictures that it was hard to choose one! He just woke up from a nap when we snapped these.

Relaxing after the morning photo shoot for his Christmas picture. Hopefully he will still be able to wear this cute outfit during December!

Lots of pictures!

Sam has been really busy sitting up all week! He loves to grab the dogs and laughs when they come in the room. He also loves to be sitting up and throw himself back into your lap and then laugh as loud as possible. He laughs so hard that you can hear him upstairs! His face lights up whenever he sees the dogs come in the room. His teachers at school say he is the only baby sitting up in his class so we are classifying him as advanced!

This guy can eat! So far he loves anything that we've given him, including sweet potatoes (his first food other than cereal), bananas, apples, green beans, and peas. I don't think he liked carrots very much, but that might be because I thought they were gross and don't want to smell them again. He bangs his hands on the tray while he's waiting for his food and opens his mouth really big. He also likes to help by grabbing the spoon and putting it in his mouth. He somehow knew how to do this from the first day of food...I guess because he watches us eat?

Eating his fish (I tried out some different settings on our camera)

He still loves sitting in his bouncy seat and his activity mat. Instead of laying under the mat, he now sits up and plays with the toys. He also likes to lay back and kick the toys as hard as he can. I've been on the receiving end of this kick a couple of times and he might have a future as a punter or field goal kicker! It's powerful!

Yesterday we went to the zoo because I thought he would enjoy looking at the animals since he the dogs are so entertaining, but I think he had more fun watching the other kids at the zoo. He had a good time hanging out in the Bjorn and then taking a nap in the stroller and we had a good time seeing the animals!

Sam has regressed slightly on his sleeping as he has started waking up between 4-5:30 each day. He seems to be waking himself up by turning over and then trying to play with the aquarium in his crib. Normally, he is ok playing for a few minutes by himself, but wants someone to grab him after a little while. I've been able to rock him back to sleep a couple of times and if it's close to 5:30 we just go ahead and get up. We're hoping the early morning wake up calls will end soon.

Our other little guy, Mattie, is back at home so we are now a family of 6! So far, no major incidents with Mattie, but we have to keep everyone separated and the shock collar charged. Poor Molly is more scared of the shock collar than Mattie and it's not even on her.

No one was harmed in the taking of this picture.

Seeing Poppop and BeBe for the first time since he was ten days old!

Having fun throwing himself backwards into my lap! He was laughing so hard that you could hear him upstairs in our bedroom!

Still eating his goldfish!

Sweet little guy loving his daddy!

Furry friends waiting patiently

Sam loves Molly...she is a little scared of him.

He loves to throw himself backwards!

Playing with his new toy

Fist bump for the camera
Look at this red hair! He does this when he's tired...very cute!

I think we love little Sam more and more every day...it's hard to imagine life without him!

20 weeks!

Sam is big time now...sitting up with no assistance! He loves to sit up because then he can look the dogs in the eye. He also started rolling on Saturday night...after the dogs. I think they are his new best friends!

Rough week...

It has been a rough week at the Kremser's...Sam continued to have an ear infection and went on some stronger antibiotics that bother his stomach and I had the worst stomach virus ever.  Sam stayed home from school with Kyle on Wednesday and went back to the doctor and Thursday-Friday were fall break days. We are hoping he will be completely better by the time he goes back to school on Monday. (Maybe I will be better too!) He has been a total champ through it all with little crying or fussing, but I hate that his ear is bothering him at all. I could also do without the massive blowouts every couple of hours (I think from the antibiotics).

Over the last couple of weeks, Sam's personality has really grown. He loves to play in his bouncy seat and goes from the musical toy to the spinning/rattle toy to the sunshine toy nonstop. He can be super serious when he's playing with these toys-it's like he's trying to take in everything about them. He also loves the dogs! He follows them all around the room and tries to grab at them. Last night, he grabbed Daisy's eye. Luckily, they are sweet dogs and just let him do whatever. Daisy just laid on her back and let him grab away. He has also started making this funny face where he bites his bottom lip (see week 19 picture). It's so funny! He does it all of the time. Last week, we started eating cereal at night and this week we tried sweet potatoes and green beans for the first time. He is a fan of food! Plus, I think he really likes doing what we do as I've noticed that he's really been watching us eat lately. Now we can all sit at the table and eat together...sort of!

Sam had some daddy time while I ran!

First time eating cereal

Daddy love

He takes these toys pretty seriously!

First Halloween PJ's (tiger outfit, not a jailbird)

Giddy up, Daisy!

Just hanging out (was it really only about six weeks ago that he could barely hold his head up and now he can almost sit up unsupported?)

Still loves his mat! I don't think he will ever outgrow this thing! Thanks to the Accounts Payable team for this toy!
